UI fixes, bugs and new features

UI

Full-screen fixes, all texts and buttons are placed almost correctly when playing in full screen.

Rework the tutorial, it's look way better now 


Skill-Tree

Show the required skill by highlighting them in red. If a required skill was purchased before, it is shown in green.

When hovering the Add to slot, the corresponding ability slot is shown in yellow



 

Heroes

The archer earned his powers:

List of skills Assault

  • Fire, Frost, Poison bomb
  • Twin shots
  • Arrow's shower

List of skills Defence

  • basic Trap
  • Fire, Frost, poison Trap

List of skills Constitution

  • shadow walk: become immune and can pass through enemies


There is a need for balancing all those stats :)

Mechanics

  • Weapon and Spells can deal critical damage, damage value is shown on hit.
  • Spell after effect mechanic: Burn, Frost and Poison. When hit with such a spell, the target receives a debuf that can spread to other creeps, which in their turn can spread it. Each time a "spread' is made, the total spread is lowered.
    e.g: Poison can spread over 8 creeps at first, then minus one for each successive spread;
  • Crystal drops: Each enemy as a chance of dropping crystals, which can be traded for Skill points (use for unlocking skills). You can also find crystal formations on the map, destroy them to get more.
  • Meet Pepe: He is the spirit that will guide you during the adventure. He likes crystals and will trade you 5 crystals for 1SP (not definitive)
  • You access the Skill Tree only when talking to him.
  • He will heal for 1/3 of your hp.

  

Spell Wheel fast cast

Abilities are now cast by selecting a spell, then right-clicking in a direction.

Select a spell by either clicking on the icon, pressing the corresponding bind, or use the spell Wheel.

Activate the wheel, by holding right click for 4sec, then hover one spell and release the button to select it. You can now eliminate your foes in a more practical way :). When the skill is selected, the mouse cursor changes.



What's next ?

  • Balance waves difficulty.
  • Continue ironing the rough edges, add more skills to each class (aiming at 15 per class).
  • Add abilities to monsters and a base for spell interactions. An arrow passing through fire would catch fire and gain Burn effect.
  • Start a batch of icons for the spells, rework the spell sprites to fit with the final pixel art theme, and work on some icons.
  • At some point I'd like to have a squad system, where you could recruit other heroes in exchange for crystals or other resources  
  • Finally figure out a name for the game, as Agerath is already used :p (I'll still rename it to fit the main menu)
  • Redraw the book with more details and polish the animations
